As expected, the grand annual ceremony of the industry-leading printer manufacturer in Southern China, the Masung Group, has taken place in Changsha starting on Sep 13, 2025.
Since the headquarters of the Masung group is based in Changsha City, namely, the capital city of Hunan Province, which is nearly 800 kilometers away from Shenzhen City, where one of the branches of the Masung Group is based. The whole team of the company set out one day prior to the grand event day to avoid physical fatigue from traveling and, most importantly, to have everything nicely arranged and fully prepared.
The grand annual ceremony takes only one day among the four-day-long trip, with the other three days having been scheduled for sightseeing for the whole team of the Shenzhen branch, as the company advocates: “Work happily and live an enjoyable.
On Sep 12, 2025, the whole team took the bullet train at 09:00 to set out for Changsha; with exact punctuality, the train arrived at Changsha by 11:45. After getting off the train, as planned, we met our female tour guide, Ms. Ma, who took us to visit one of the most famous attraction destinations here in China—Juzizhoutou, a sightseeing spot built in honor of China's greatest leader, Chairman Mao Zedong, often shortened as Chairman Mao.
It took roughly half an hour before we reached there. At the first sight of the grand statue of Chairman Mao, I was shocked by the grandeur and solemnness of the statue. It's a bust of Chairman Mao in his early 30s, which is of amazing likeness to Chairman Mao. Like many of the tourists on the site, I took a bunch of pictures of the great chairman, not only to record that I had a physical visit to the attraction site, but also to pay respect and salute the greatest innovator in the history of China”
Early the next day, we left the Lavande Hotel and gathered downstairs outside the hotel for assembly before heading out to the headquarters of the Masung Group. After 5 minutes, we arrived there to see the national flag rising rite. We were told to stand in rows on the steps of the headquarters' front gate to take a photo of the whole team when the rite is completed. Everything went smoothly as planned, and amidst it, laughter burst out among the assembly as some of our coworkers joked with one another. Subsequently, together with our colleagues from Shenzhen and domestic and overseas business partners, we were directed to the No. 2 building of Masung to visit the production workshops.
On the first floor, we visited the metal stamping workshop where printer modules of dozens of types are made, including embedded printer modules, self-ordering printer modules, self-service printer modules, and printer modules for kiosk machines.
On the second floor, we saw lines of receipt printers, label printers, panel printers, thermal sticker printers, and a few others that I couldn't name that were being tested for quality assurance purposes. The entire story was noisy and buzzy, seeing that many printers were printing simultaneously. That's the last session for the morning.
Before the annual ceremony to take place at 13:30, it was hustling and bustling outside the performance hall as the whole team was in preparation for the event to come in about a moment. As a performer myself, I started rehearsing with my teammates to ensure the smoothness of the later performance. Everything seemed fine except my supervisor, Coco Li; she worries or fears that I might damage the spotlight or the ceiling of the stage. Repeatedly, I assured her that would never happen.
By 13:30 in the afternoon, the performance room was full of Masung's employees. Right opposite and off the stage, a row of tables and seats has been arranged for our business partners, our companies' leadership, and judges from the management team, who will rate the performances by giving them scores on a scale of 1 to 10. A three-tier bonus and consolation awards was set to award performers who would do greatly at performing.
In total, there were around 20 programs or shows by all the employees. What impressed me most are the vigor and energy of the dancers, the humor of the short comedy play, the bravery of the soldier martial art dance, and the mystery and wonder of the magic show. The entire room was engulfed with fitful applause and laughter once in a while.
At the end of the show, the CEO of the Masung group, Peter staged and gave a brief speech in which he expressed his gratitude for the effort and devotion of the staff and the integrity and understanding of our company's business partners and clients. Lastly, Peter inspired the entire team to move forward with the faith of “making Masung a recognizable name in the overseas market,” noting that this goal might take some time to realize. He also stated, encouraging the team to “keep walking even though the step underfoot are heavy.” “Innovation is always at the core of Masung's development path forward.” “Masung is more of a platform than a corporation for their employees to realize their dreams.”
