The MS-7740 uses a global-exposure lens combined with fast image capture technology to maintain rapid code reading while the target is moving. With motion tolerance of >2.8 m/s, the embedded barcode reader is suitable for applications where users or products may not remain stationary during scanning.
The module supports a wide range of 1D and 2D symbologies, including PDF417, QR Code, Data Matrix, MicroPDF417, MaxiCode, Aztec, Code 128, Code 39, EAN/UPC, Interleaved 2 of 5 and other commonly used formats. Its ≥4 mil accuracy makes it a versatile barcode reader module for embedded equipment.
The MS-7740 is designed to read barcodes in both sunlight and dark environments, with support for ambient lighting from 0 to 100,000 lux. This makes the QR code scanner module suitable for equipment that may be installed indoors, outdoors or in areas where lighting conditions change throughout the day.
Its barcode sensitivity reaches ±80° tilt, ±70° deflection and 360° rotation, while the diagonal viewing angle is 50°. These characteristics allow the QR scanner module to accommodate different barcode presentation angles and help simplify scanning in practical self-service applications.
The MS-7740 supports QR codes displayed on mobile devices as well as printed barcodes. For a WeChat payment code measuring 2.3 × 2.23 cm, the specified depth of field is 35–400 mm, while an Alipay payment code measuring 3 × 3 cm can be read from 60–650 mm. This makes the QR code reader module suitable for payment terminals and other applications where users scan codes from a comfortable distance.
Alongside QR Code, the module supports PDF417, Data Matrix, MicroPDF417, MaxiCode, Codablock, Aztec and various 1D symbologies. This combination allows the QR reader module to handle payment codes, tickets, labels and other machine-readable information within the same embedded device.
The MS-7740 integrates RS232, USB, USB COM, a buzzer and a terminal block onto the PCB, reducing the need for separate components during equipment integration. An optional tempered glass cover is also available for applications requiring additional protection. The compact 61 × 47 × 29.4 mm structure and 25.5 g weight make the bar code scanner module suitable for space-conscious OEM designs.
The module operates from 3.3–5V DC and supports working temperatures from -30°C to +70°C, storage temperatures from -40°C to +80°C and 5–95% non-condensing humidity. These specifications make the barcode scanner module suitable for commercial and self-service equipment exposed to demanding operating environments.
